Every once and a while, I believe it is important to take a step back from your life and look at it from an outside perspective. Stepping outside your own life and into the lives of others. People you least expect are soldiers in their own daily battles. Treating everyone with kindness, even if you feel they least deserve it, can really help turn someones day around. Today after working on some coursework, I found myself staring out the window for a large amount of time. People were shifting around from class to class, carrying a load of books, as well as their own issues.
As I daze
We stood
Steady as the stars in the woods
So happy-hearted
And the warmth rang true inside these bones
As the old pine fell we sang
Just to bless the morning.
